2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣6️⃣ What can I say. That was a different 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣6️⃣What can I say. That was a different world. I was still married, on the verge of it not being good, but still not bad enough. I didn’t know a 15 year marriage was going to end soon. My kids were still teens and still relatively dependant on me. What a special time to have their little hands still holding mine while crossing the street and laughing with me over silly things. I still considered myself a full time mom with a part time job. That would end soon too. I still miss that time at home. Making our house a real home. Botox hadn’t hit my life yet and this was pre knee surgery!!So many memories that I’ll miss, but what a long way that I’ve come! 🫶🏻

I know it can seem selfish or like you don’t use the time… but the busiest and most stressed of us typically need it more than others 🫶🏻 Save this and listen to it next time you need a min. Walk. Run. Jog. Just move. Yup you gotta move an Walk. Run. Jog. Just move. Yup you gotta move and sweat to stay healthy girl.Sweat out the toxins and move your muscles.Get your heart and blood pumping (and remind yourself that you’re still able to move even when you feel like you can’t).When we move our bodies and use our muscles on a daily basis we are helping to reduce the buildup of waste and toxins and get our blood flowing and circulation more active.This directly helps the tension and stress that you’re probably holding in your neck, shoulders and lower back (though some people like me hold tension in other places like the thighs, jaw or temples).You don’t need to sign up for a daily boxing routine or an expensive gym membership. Finding a fun activity and doing it for a good 15-30 minutes with an elevated heart rate is what you want to go for.Need ideas? #REST One of my 7 steps to selfcare. Our bodies n #RESTOne of my 7 steps to selfcare. Our bodies need time to unwind and relax. We literally need time to decompress from the rollercoaster of the day we’ve had and let chemicals in our body (like cortisol and adrenaline) regulate back to balance.Just as air is life, sleep equals sanity! And sleep is another way to get your daily rest.Getting to bed earlier and making your sleep count is vital. I know I know, I said go to sleep earlier … LOL and I get how hard that can be, sometimes the deep dark hours of the night are the only hours we have to ourselves … but true restful sleep is the only kind that’s really worth it.Sleep is when our bodies can fully unwind and refresh. Did you know that it’s also the time when stress doesn’t eat us up and when our bodies can actually get a chance to repair themselves properly from all the earlier stress, germ attacks and muscle use?Our hard-working bodies at least deserve that, don’t you agree?Well to help myself out, I just (finally) ordered a new mattress from a Canadian company called @silkandsnow. I will be documenting how it goes, so stay tuned!! It’s my first mattress in 17 years… and I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to one- be able to afford a good quality Canadian made bed, and two- finally be rid of the old mattress and memories it held. Quick notes: I ordered the medium firm S&S mattress, it’s recommended for side sleepers and back sleepers. Silk and snow make their mattresses using high quality materials, they promote thoughtful and transparent  manufacturing while delivering the dreamiest sleep experience possible.This order also came with a free sleep bundle that included 2 pillows and cases, mattress topper, duvet and fitted sheet. #newbed #canadianmade #newmattress
